Tattoo Aftercare Instructions

Remove the bandage within 3 hours and wash your tattoo with warm water and mild soap. Make sure all the dry plasma/blood is washed off. 

Now pat dry your tattoos with fresh tissue and leave open to dry. 

Once your tattoo is dry i.e after 10-15 minutes, apply a very thin layer of ointment (H2Ocean, Aquaphore, A&D, Bacitracin, ect.) *Do not over lubricate your tattoo; however do not let dry out either*

Repeat this for the next 7 days; 3 times a day. 

Do not re-bandage your tattoo; instead keep it covered wearing loose clothes as your tattoo needs to breath to heal. Wash your hands before and after touching your tattoo to avoid infection. 

While bathing, wash your new tattoo with water but do not soak it for more than 5 minutes. 

Stop washing your tattoo and stop applying the ointment.

Use non-scented hand lotion until skin returns to its pre-tattooed condition.

From the seventh day your tattoo will start scabbing; this scab has to peel off naturally leaving the ink behind in your skin. * If the skin comes off pre-maturely then the ink will come off, as the ink is attached to the scab*.

Resist scratching the tattooed area or picking at the scabs no matter how much it itches. 

Your tattoo should heal within 2 weeks. 

Redness at site 

Green/Yellow discharge (foul smelling) 

And/or Fever 

Do not let anyone touch your freshly made tattoo as bacteria might infect it. 

Do not soak your tattoo; stay out of tubs, sauna, jacuzzi, pools, hot tubs, ocean ect. Showers are fine. 

Stay out of sunlight and tanning booths until you're healed, at least 7-10 days. 

                *Extreme sun and exposure over the years can and will fade your tattoo. This can be minimized by using strong sunscreen, at leat SP25* 

Do not exercise the tattooed area until all your scabs have fallen off, as stretching your skin may force the scab to leave your skin resulting in  loss of color.

 It is advised to moisturize your tattoo daily even after it's healed.
